When legendary local restaurant group Barleycorn’s wanted to pursue an aggressive and ongoing media relations campaign, they needed an agency that would work just as hard as they do – while whipping up a healthy serving of creativity and clever pitches. While our firm has lent our expertise and tenacity to several large scale quick serve restaurants such as White Castle and dozens of Cincinnati and NKY mom and pop places, Barleycorn’s presented some unique opportunities as a three location, 40 year old and ever evolving spot. We began with a series of monthly media tours, taking our friends at the local media our famous chicken wings, nachos and other finger foods just to butter ‘em up a bit. Blue beer and chips to celebrate UK Basketball, and new craft beer tap takeovers featuring Cincinnati brews are part of a whole new menu launched in November 2015. We provide regular and ongoing press announcements and pitch ideas to area media and have ramped up community relations efforts. The results are staggering: more publicity in two months than in the previous 10 years combined, a magazine cover, appearances on TV, print and radio and perhaps most importantly – a nice bump in sales, traffic and turn.
